FROM THE DIRECTOR
Binghamton
University's Affirmative Action Office is committed to the idea of respect
for human diversity and for creating a campus community that is inclusive
of all its members-- a community in which prejudice,harassmentand discrimination
on the basis of gender, ethnicity,race,national origin,age,religion,maritial
status, disability,veteran era status, and sexual orientation are unacceptable.
This office is responsible for the development of programs,training,outreach
and compliance efforts to ensure the University's committment to a harassment
and discrimination-free environment.
The
Affirmative Action Office provides
support and advice to all university offices on recruitment and retention
issues,training on harassment,sexual harassment,diversity, workplace
issues,and the Americans with Disabitiies Act.The Director of Affirmative
Action also serves as Co-compliance Officer, inconcert with the Director
of Services for Students with Disabilities,for Section 504 of the Rehabilitation
Act and ADA.
The
Affirmative Action Office is located in the Glenn Bartle Library, LSG-667.
